Job Description: We are seeking an Aerospace IP Counsel with expertise in intellectual property, corporate law, and transactional matters within the aerospace, aviation, and manufacturing industries. This role is ideal for a mid- to senior-level attorney with a strong background in patent and trademark management, IP strategy, and technology-driven product development. Responsibilities: • Advise aerospace and aviation clients on global IP strategy, portfolio management, and enforcement. • Guide products through all phases of the development cycle, identifying IP assets and implementing protection strategies. • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial, technology, and licensing agreements for multinational corporations. • Support regulatory compliance, due diligence, and cross-functional business initiatives, including sourcing, logistics, and financial services. • Lead education and training initiatives on IP, patents, and trademarks for engineers, scientists, and internal stakeholders. • Collaborate with R&D, marketing, and product teams to align IP strategy with innovation goals. Minimum Qualifications: • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent and active U.S. bar membership in good standing. • 5+ years of experience in intellectual property and corporate law, ideally with aerospace, aviation, or technology industry experience. • Proven experience managing global IP portfolios, including patents, trademarks, and licensing agreements. • Strong analytical, strategic, and client-facing skills, capable of advising legal and business stakeholders. • Tech-savvy and adaptable, experienced with IP management systems and modern legal technology tools. Preferred Skills: • Prior in-house or secondment experience within aerospace, aviation, or high-tech manufacturing companies. • Knowledge of patent-trademark overlap, IP licensing, and enforcement strategies. • Ability to scale time commitment based on project needs (part-time ramping to full-time potential). Compensation, Benefits & Location: This role offers a range of competitive compensation starting at $130,000, and a highly competitive benefits package in the alternative legal services marketplace that includes health benefits, 401k, and more.
