About Our Clinic:
Palma Sola Animal Clinic is located in West Bradenton with Island Animal Clinic close by off of Holmes Beach on Anna Maria Island, while Safe Harbor Animal Clinic is in South Bradenton. Our clinics are dedicated to pampering pets throughout the Bradenton area, because we know that healthy pets mean happy people. From advanced diagnostic tools to a team that feels more like family, we are where care meets compassion.
All three clinics are only open Monday through Friday, so enjoy your weekends off

Responsibilities
A Day in the Life:

  • Patient Care and Medical Support:

  • Assist veterinarians with patient examinations, procedures, and surgeries, ensuring all equipment and supplies are prepared and ready.

  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
  • Perform various laboratory tests, including bloodwork, urinalysis, and diagnostic imaging.

  • Nursing and Rehabilitation:

  • Provide compassionate nursing care to hospitalized and recovering patients, including wound management, IV catheterization, and fluid therapy.

  • Educate pet owners on post-operative care, medication administration, and disease management.

  • Diagnostic and Therapeutic Equipment:

  • Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment

  • Client Interaction and Education:

  • Communicate with pet owners, explain treatment plans, providing updates on patient status, and addressing any questions or concerns.

  • Educate clients on preventive care, nutrition, and proper handling techniques.

  • Record Keeping and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories.

  • Ensure timely and complete documentation in accordance with veterinary standards.

  • Team Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Collaborate effectively with veterinarians, other veterinary technicians, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care and client service.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to veterinary assistants and other team members.

Skills & Requirements

  • Must be a Certified Veterinary Technician within the state of Florida, or an experienced veterinary technician working toward your license in the next 6 months.
  • Ability to handle animals with care, even the stressed-out ones.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, juggling tasks like a pro.
  • Comfortable using veterinary software for records and documentation.
  • Physically fit to handle animals of all sizes- up to 50lbs.
