The Impact You Will Have

This position is responsible for providing technical and resource leadership to enable data analytics with structured and unstructured data. You will lead technical design and architecture decisions, set standards for the team, and drive the execution of data integration and analytics initiatives. As the technical lead, you will own complex data solutions from conception through deployment, while guiding other engineers and collaborating with business areas, project teams, IT technical teams, and outsourced vendors to ensure high-quality delivery of data architecture and integration applications for medium to large projects.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and technical review of complex data solutions, following and helping establish processes and standards for user story development, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Participate in technical architecture decisions and serve as a subject matter expert for data integration and analytics solutions.
  • Design and develop prototypes or final data solutions to enable the measurement or monitoring of key performance indicators.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to existing artifacts to align with enterprise strategy or improve user experience.
  • Provide technical guidance to other data engineers on best practices, design patterns, and problem-solving approaches.
  • Participate in technical discussions and help drive consensus on architectural decisions and technical trade-offs.
  • Ensure test environment and data readiness is appropriate for support and project deliverables.
  • Execute and maintain manual and/or automated test cases and scripts, as assigned.
  • Analyze test results and document defects and issues using the Incident Management Process.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex data challenges and production issues.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
  • Understanding of AWS architecture and cloud components, including how services work together to build data solutions (storage, compute, orchestration, and data processing services)
  • Ability to design and implement data solutions leveraging AWS infrastructure and services
  • Experience in developing and designing data integration solutions.
  • Knowledge in data analysis using SQL, user story development, data warehouse design and modeling (3rd normal form or dimensional modeling), data integration design and development.
  • Ability to contribute to technical direction and help establish standards and best practices.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions and contribute to decision-making across teams.
  • Strong oral/written communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with teams with diverse professional backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with teams across the enterprise and stakeholders on project execution and issue resolution.
  • Solution-oriented mindset with willingness to improve business operations and drive efficiency.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of technical efforts, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced agile environment.
  • Hybrid role in Eagan, MN (2 days in office, 3 days remote).
  • High school diploma (or equivalency) and legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Practical and relevant experience with one or more data warehouse and big data technical tools.
  • Hands-on experience with storage, ETL/ELT processes and orchestration using AWS Cloud Technologies.
  • AWS Solution Architect or Data Engineer Certification
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum project methodology.
  • Knowledge of the health care/health insurance industry.
  • Working knowledge of UNIX environment, including shell scripting and scheduler (ideally StoneBranch).
  • Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other data engineers.

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range: $90,800.00 - $120,300.00 - $149,800.00 Annual

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including skills, ability, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
