Job Summary The Pharmacy Technician supports the pharmacist in ensuring the maintenance of efficient pharmacy operations, customer satisfaction and loyalty, and regulatory compliance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for completing tasks related to remote data entry, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional customer service. You will also be required to comply with rules governing the role of a pharmacy technician as issued by the state of Ohio or the State Board of Pharmacy. Essential Job Responsibilities Utilize basic knowledge of RX 30 pharmacy computer system, including refills, profiles, workflow, courier manifests, and refill reports Demonstrate knowledge of register transactions, including cash, check, charge, house charge, and account balances Operate office machines and maintain a general knowledge of current phone systems Apply in-depth knowledge of current HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Maintain general knowledge of acceptable medical abbreviations, brand vs. generic drugs, and DME available Utilize knowledge of auto refill system and website refills to efficiently process prescriptions Demonstrate proper use and maintenance of pill counting machines and other equipment Understand and apply knowledge of "Promise Time" and proper filing of prescription "hard copies" Perform daily functions, including medication sign out, restocking of medication vials and supplies, and other tasks as assigned by management Education and Experience To be successful in this role, you should have a High School graduate or equivalent degree. While not required, one year of Pharmacy Technician experience is preferred. You should also be able to pass a FBI/BCI background check and complete continuing education requirements, which will be outlined in the training manual and/or employee handbook.
