Freelance mid-weight Product Designer

UI / UX Designer (mid-weight) - Shopify (Contract) Outside IR35 | £310 per day | Fully Remote (UK) 3 days per week - Part-time contract We're partnering with a Shopify Plus and enterprise eCommerce agency looking for a mid-weight UI / UX Designer to support ongoing Shopify projects. This is a part-time, remote contract, starting next week, for an initial 3-month engagement, with the potential to extend. You'll work across multiple eCommerce builds, helping deliver clear, conversion-focused design solutions within Shopify's framework. The Role You'll lead UI / UX design across Shopify and Shopify Plus projects, from early audits through to build-ready designs. The role suits someone comfortable working at pace in an agency environment, balancing user needs, commercial goals, and technical constraints. Responsibilities Lead end-to-end UI / UX design on Shopify eCommerce projects Audit and benchmark existing eCommerce experiences Define information architecture, user flows, and wireframes Produce build-ready designs in Figma Design within Shopify theme systems and constraints Apply eCommerce UX and conversion best practices Champion accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA) Collaborate closely with developers and delivery teams Confidently manage scope, expectations, and trade-offs Experience Required Strong Shopify or Shopify Plus UI / UX experience Solid eCommerce and conversion-focused design background Advanced Figma skills Agency or consultancy experience preferred Confident communicator with stakeholders and developers Contract Details £310 per day Outside IR35 (must invoice through either Limited Company ro Umrbella, not Sole Trader) Fully remote (UK-based, UK hours) 3 days per week Start: Next week Initial 3 months *Rates depend on experience and client requirements
