Applicants must be willing and capable of:

  • Standing in one spot on a work stand or at a work station except during breaks and lunches.
  • Working on short notice, working 8-12 hrs a day, work several days in a row if our business dictates and work mandatory overtime throughout the week and weekend.
  • Working a day, evening, third and/or weekend shift
  • Working in average temperatures of 35-45 degrees or less
  • Working with different types of raw, chilled, processed or ready-to-eat meats.
  • Follow our strict sanitation requirements, including but not limited to: wearing hair nets, beard nets, and washing hands frequently, no jewelry, no nail polish or fake nails, etc.
  • Following our strict safety requirements, including wearing a hard hat, ear and eye protection, vinyl gloves and hand/foot protection.
  • Practice safe working procedures in accordance with safety policies of Swiss American Sausage Co.
  • Basic understanding of written and spoken English to ensure effective communication and comprehension of work-related instructions.
  • Adapting to changing responsibilities and business needs.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior food manufacturing Sanitation Experience
  • Driving/operating different types of industrial trucks and/or electric powered jacks
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic math skills
