HR Generalist<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><span>The Human Resources Generalist provides human resources support to all hourly employees of the Vermont Creamery facility in Websterville, VT. </span></p><p><span> </span></p><p><span>The position provides support in managing human resource initiatives, employee relations, and HR administration for more than 100 staff, including mostly manufacturing roles.  Among the Generalist’s responsibilities is leading recruitment and on-boarding of hourly employees in partnership with Vermont Creamery leaders and the Land O’Lakes Talent Acquisition team. </span></p><p><span> </span></p><p><span>A key skill for the HR Generalist is the ability to understand the big picture of Vermont Creamery’s work while integrating HR into business operations in a detail-oriented manner. This position is responsible for interpreting situations, communicating often with employees, and consistently applying company policy while exercising good judgement.      </span></p><p></p><p><span><b>Required Qualifications & Experiences</b> </span></p><ul><li><p><span>Undergraduate degree in human resources or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.  </span></p></li><li><p><span>3+ years of experience in a Human Resources Specialist or Generalist role. </span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><span><b>Competencies-Skills (Required):</b> </span></p><ul><li><p><span>Strong communication skills and ability to lead and drive change in a manufacturing environment.  </span></p></li><li><p><span>Communicates effectively in an open and timely manner. </span></p></li><li><p><span>Communicates and administers HR related policies/procedures fairly and consistently. </span></p></li><li><p><span>Handles all HR matters confidentially and with great tact and professionalism. </span></p></li><li><p><span>Handles multiple demands and balances competing priorities, with a sense of urgency. </span></p></li><li><p><span>Efficiently processes workload and is flexible to assist others as needed. Excellent organizational abilities. </span></p></li><li><p><span>Manages tasks with exceptional follow-through and attention to detail. </span></p></li><li><p><span>Efficiently leverages software and systems used by the company. </span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><span><b>Hours:</b> This is a three-shift manufacturing plant; the incumbent will need to be flexible to work off-shifts from time to time or switch shifts as needed for communication purposes. </span></p><p><span> </span></p><p><span><b>Essential Functions & Responsibilities: </b></span></p><ul><li><p><span>Use <i><b>good independent judgement</b></i> to execute daily work requirements.  </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span><i><b>Deliver strategic human resource initiatives</b></i> that support business objectives. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span><span>Effectively <i><b>collaborate with local, regional, and corporate HR teams</b></i> to achieve plant objectives. </span></span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span><i><b>Execute production recruitment plan</b></i> by managing selection process, including manage interview logistics, maintain compliant applicant records, conduct orientation and the new hire process, and conduct compliance training for new hires. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Partner with HR Manager in <i><b>conducting investigations</b></i> and making corrective action recommendations. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Partner with plant leadership to <i><b>effectively manage performance</b></i> of all employees. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Assist Plant Leadership in <i><b>coaching and development of their teams</b></i> along with application and interpretation of labor relations policies and practices, according to policy. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Log and <i><b>track performance</b></i> and all other employee discipline for the plant. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Maintain employee personnel and all other <i><b>HR related files.</b></i> </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Ensure legal and <i><b>compliance information</b></i> postings are met and union information as needed. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Manage <i><b>Attendance Program</b></i><b> </b>in partnership with on-site managers and supervisors. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Responsible for all local payroll processes. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span><i><b>Proactively recommend ideas and solutions</b></i> to effectively address the needs of the organization. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Detect / anticipate potential issues and determine <i><b>reasonable solutions to problems</b></i> to drive improvement. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Assist in implementing, evaluating strategies and programs to <i><b>improve employee engagement and retention</b></i>. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Analyze <i><b>training needs</b></i>; implements training delivery with plant management; facilitate various training activities; and ensures compliance with company and legally required training. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span><i><b>Educate leaders</b></i> to ensure consistent application of policies while promoting positive employee relations. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Partner with EHS and plant leadership as needed on <i><b>daily application </b></i>of leave of absence policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span><b>Ensure</b><i><b> compliance</b></i> with EEOC, FMLA, Code of Conduct, Discrimination, Harassment, and other legal/policy issues. </span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Salary Range:</b> $70,800 - $106,200 .
