Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA)

Location: Home-based
Pay Rate: £14 - £18 per hour (dependent on pay status)
Hours: Full-time or part-time depending on location
Contract: Temporary assignment (8-12 weeks)

At Supporting Futures, we specialise in connecting passionate professionals with roles that make a real difference. We work closely with charities and specialist services supporting individuals affected by abuse, exploitation and trauma.

We are currently seeking an experienced Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) to support a specialist sexual violence service on a temporary basis for 8-12 weeks.

This role is primarily remote-based, with travel required to attend in-person appointments, multi-agency meetings, and court hearings where needed.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ISVA who can step into a service and provide immediate, trauma-informed support to survivors of sexual violence.

Working Pattern

We are able to offer this role in two ways depending on your location and availability:

Option 1 - Full-time (Home based with travel)

· Suitable for candidates based in Cumbria or Lancashire

· Able to travel across Cumbria to attend face-to-face appointments, court hearings and multi-agency meetings

Option 2 - Part-time (remote)

· Open to candidates based anywhere in the UK

· Providing remote casework and telephone support only

· Reduced hours due to the absence of face-to-face work

Key Responsibilities

· Provide confidential, trauma-informed support to individuals affected by sexual violence

· Conduct triage, risk assessments and identify safeguarding concerns

· Develop tailored safety and support plans alongside clients

· Support clients through reporting processes and engagement with the criminal justice system

· Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure access to appropriate services

· Work closely with partner agencies including police, health services and social care

· Maintain accurate and confidential case records in line with GDPR requirements

· Participate in safeguarding discussions and multi-agency meetings

· Travel across Cumbria to attend appointments, court hearings and partnership meetings where required

About You

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, organised and confident working independently, with experience supporting survivors of trauma.

Ability to travel across Cumbria for face-to-face work (full-time role) or provide remote support only (part-time option)

Essential experience

· Experience supporting individuals affected by sexual violence, domestic abuse or similar trauma

· Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment and trauma-informed practice

· Knowledge of the criminal justice process

· Ability to manage a caseload effectively within a temporary assignment

· Strong communication and advocacy skills

Desirable

· ISVA qualification or working towards accreditation

· Experience working within multi-agency partnerships

· Knowledge of services across Cumbria

· Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
