Build the Future of Supply Chain Planning, Inventory & Logistics for Drone Delivery

How do you ensure that the advanced hardware for autonomous drones that will deliver packages in under an hour is planned, ready, and available to build or use? How do you ensure that valuable and important drone parts and operational equipment are organized and properly inventoried and that the team and system is ready to scale to be able to support building and flying thousands of Amazon Prime Air delivery drones and sites?

Prime Air needs a leader that has both strategic vision and daily tactical execution focus to build, develop, and grow processes, mechanisms, and ensure our key customers have the materials and information that they need.

As Manager of Supply Chain Planning, Inventory & Logistics, you will lead a team of demand management planners, inventory and warehouse specialists, and shipping and logistics specialists who plan, develop and execute mechanisms for demand and supply planning; receive, manage, and pick/kit hardware; and ensure safe, reliable and compliant transportation to our teams to enable our ultra-fast drone delivery service across the US and Europe.

What You'll Own

Lead and Develop High-Performing Supply Chain Planning Specialists, Warehouse/Inventory Specialist & Logistics Specialists: Manage and mentor a team of Supply Chain Planning Specialists, Warehouse/Inventory Specialist & Logistics Specialists. Build their capabilities to dive deep across business lines, leverage our supplier base, and optimize performance, quality, efficiency, and cost.

Drive Demand and Supply Planning Strategy: Establish demand forecasting and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools to ensure accurate requirements timing, work planning, and ordering. Integrate supplier communication and responses to ensure automated supply chain health visibility.

Drive Warehousing and Inventory Management Strategy: Establish and drive disciplined execution of warehouse management for inbound receiving and outbound shipping, inventory management processes to ensure accurate inventory, and picking, kitting and delivery to support production operations and commercial operation needs.

Drive Logistics and Transportation Strategy: Establish and drive high quality, cost efficient logistics policies, relationships, and visibility to ensure traceable on-time delivery of shipments to Prime Air’s global operations sites.

Earn Trust with Business Partners: Establish enduring relationships with internal stakeholders across Prime Air. Build deep understanding of strategic direction, requirements, and priorities to become a trusted advisor on demand, inventory, and logistics development and execution.

Export Control Requirement

This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon's ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

The demand strategies, inventory management practices, and logistics network you develop and the supplier relationships you build will directly impact our ability to deploy drone delivery at scale. Your decisions on processes, mechanisms, supplier performance, and cost optimization will affect program timelines, product quality, and our path to profitability.

About the team
Our Supply Chain Planning, Inventory & Logistics team is passionate about Prime Air's mission of ultra-fast delivery. We combine demand / ERP management, inventory management, and logistics expertise with a willingness to invent and simplify for a business that is scaling from pilot to production.
We operate from Seattle, WA and partner closely with Prime Air's engineering, operations, quality and business teams. Our supplier base spans the US, Europe, and Asia, giving you global exposure and the opportunity to work with leading firms across specialized technology firms, consumer electronics, aerospace and service companies.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
  • Bachelor's degree, or Master's degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field
  • 7+ years of Supply Chain Management experience including Demand / Supply planning experience, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system experience; inventory management, and logistics/transportation management
  • 7+ years of experience in new product introduction, procurement, supply chain, inventory management, and operations
  • Proven ability to lead a medium to large team of professionals in supply chain and/or operations
  • Experience with operational and financial analysis

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field
- Knowledge of supply chain management concepts - forecasting, planning, sourcing, optimization and logistics or equivalent
  • Strong background in supply chain, operational, cost, and financial analysis
  • Track record of developing tools, reports, process maps, scorecards, and data visualizations to drive decision-making

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
