Our client, a global leader in offshore energy exploration and production, is seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Offshore Drilling Supervisor to oversee drilling operations on their state-of-the-art offshore platform. This critical role ensures that all drilling activities are conducted efficiently, safely, and in compliance with stringent industry regulations and environmental standards. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of drilling engineering principles, and a proven ability to manage complex operations in a challenging offshore environment.
Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate all drilling operations, ensuring adherence to the drilling program and company policies. Oversee the daily activities of the drilling crew, providing clear direction and mentorship. Ensure all drilling operations are conducted in strict accordance with safety regulations, including company HSE policies and governmental requirements. Monitor drilling parameters and performance, making necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency and wellbore integrity. Manage inventory of drilling equipment and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels. Conduct pre-shift safety meetings and toolbox talks with the drilling crew. Inspect drilling equipment regularly to ensure it is in safe and operational condition. Oversee the safe handling and storage of all drilling materials and chemicals. Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues that arise during drilling activities. Maintain accurate drilling logs and reports, documenting daily progress, issues encountered, and solutions implemented. Liaise with other departments, including geologists, engineers, and marine support, to ensure seamless operations. Implement emergency response procedures and ensure crew preparedness. Manage crew performance, conduct performance reviews, and identify training needs. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and reporting requirements. Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture and a commitment to operational excellence. Authorize work permits and ensure all work is conducted safely and under controlled conditions. Manage rig move operations and other logistical aspects as required. Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions. Qualifications: Minimum of 10 years of experience in offshore drilling operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role (e.g., Driller, Toolpusher). Extensive knowledge of drilling techniques, equipment, and procedures, including BOP operations and well control. Strong understanding of offshore safety regulations and environmental best practices. Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct crews effectively. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Valid offshore certifications (e.g., IWCF Level 3 or 4, BOSIET, HUET). Ability to work extended rotations offshore (e.g., 28/28 days). Proficiency in reading and interpreting drilling plans and technical drawings. Commitment to maintaining a zero-incident workplace. Experience with various types of offshore rigs and drilling fluids is desirable. Ability to pass a comprehensive medical examination for offshore work.
