Part Time Bookkeeper – Creative & Media Sector

About the Role

Are you an experienced Bookkeeper or Senior Bookkeeper with at least 3 to 5 years relevant experience in industry or practice, looking to work part time, 3 days a week in a creative / media business that edits high‑profile film and TV programmes? Do you have experience of Xero, and either experience or a strong interest working in the creative / media sector? Are you also looking to work for a firm that can be flexible with the number of days you work in the office? Based in Zone 1 Central London (City Location) and working in a firm of 25 staff, you will be the sole charge Bookkeeper at the firm and report directly into the external firm of accountants. Your role will include: managing and recording all financial transactions of the business, journal entries, processing invoices, payment runs, maintaining the sales ledger and purchase ledger, bank reconciliations, general ledger management, banking, managing staff expenses, credit control, giving payroll information to the accountants to process, ensuring all month end journals are posted and any other duties as required by the business. The role will start off being 3 days a week but the firm is open to the role expanding and involving the production of management accounts and VAT returns in the future, as well as increasing the number of days worked (if desired).

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and recording all financial transactions of the business, including journal entries.
  • Processing invoices and payment runs.
  • Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers.
  • Bank reconciliations and general ledger management.
  • Banking, managing staff expenses, and credit control.
  • Providing payroll information to external accountants for processing.
  • Ensuring all month‑end journals are posted.
  • Other duties as required by the business.
  • Future responsibilities may include production of management accounts and VAT returns, and expanding to 4–5 days a week.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years relevant experience in bookkeeping, either in industry or practice.
  • Experience using Xero software (training can be provided).
  • A strong interest or background in the creative/media sector.
  • Ability to work in a sole‑charge role.
  • Living within commutable distance to Zone 1 London.
  • Part‑time availability for three days a week, with flexible office days.
