Global Trade (GT) requirements exist to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations pertaining to economic sanctions and the export and import of products, services and technical data.   

As an Authorization Specialist, you will be working with Authorization Management, obtaining and managing regulatory and Collins internal authorizations.  

Authorization Specialists also work with the Collins Global Trade Program (training, policies, processes, implementation & metrics); using digital technology and physical safeguards to manage transfers compliantly and efficiently; ensuring compliant transfers of physical goods and intangible items; and addressing regulatory and policy violations to prevent recurrence and drive continuous improvement. 

Collins categorizes Regulatory Authorizations (Government approval to engage in a Controlled Activity related to Controlled Items) into two types: 

Application-Based Authorizations require a transaction-specific application be submitted to a government agency for review and approval.  

Regulation-Based Authorizations such as exemptions, exceptions, general licenses, or general permits. 

What You Will Do:

  • Drafting and submission of all export and import authorizations to Department of Commerce and Department of State.   
  • Working closely with the business and other Global Trade employees to ensure we meet all lifecycles of authorizations, from determination, application, activation, use, management, and dispositioning.   
  • Working closely with the business and other Global Trade employees to ensure authorizations are accurate and obtained timely in order to meet the needs of the business.    
  • Work on projects as assigned.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Strong working knowledge of the various export authorization types/uses under each set of regulations. 
  • Experience working with U.S. government licensing authorities. 
  • Program/product knowledge and general knowledge of technology transfer requirements and restrictions. 

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Strong working knowledge of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). 
  • Working SAP Knowledge of export transactions (sales & distribution). 
  • Project Management experience. 
  • Excellent leadership skills to create a culture of compliance throughout functions, levels and platforms in the business. 
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
