Some of what you will do

Under the direction of the Supervisor: Reverse Logistics eCommerce this role will be responsible for the repairing, grading and listing of select merchandise through our online eCommerce platforms. Each day will be fast-paced, challenging, rewarding and meaningful.

Specifically, you will:

  • Repair, test, clean and refurbish a wide range of technology items (laptops, desktop computers, digital cameras, GPS’s, console gaming etc.) for sale on various online marketplaces.
  • Use custom software and third-party auction management software, log items and prepare item descriptions for listing on eBay or other eComm platforms, taking product photographs as required. The Product Specialist is responsible for the creation of all listings to be published.
  • With guidance from the Supervisor, prioritize items and business needs for the day and week.
  • Ensure the integrity of the binning system and inventory controls by properly binning all items at various stages of the testing to listing process.
  • Investigate any returned product for signs of fraud and report immediately to the Supervisor.
  • Ensure the safety of all associates by following proper disposal of damaged batteries.
  • Research all products for average selling price on various online platforms to make recommendations for selling prices on our own product considering the grade of the item.
  • The OMS is accurately and completely filled out for every item, if OMS needs to be adjusted to allow for more or less product information they let the supervisor know immediately.
  • Communicate any items under warranty that require repairs right away to the Supervisor before the warranty period expires.

Qualifications:

Some of what you need

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of technical experience fixing issues on computers is required
  • Post Secondary degree in applicable field or related work experience
  • Previous selling experience online is an asset
  • Staples experience as a Resident Tech or Technology Consultant is preferred
  • Prior retail experience is an asset
  • Must have a good understanding of the eCommerce concept
  • Must be adaptable to the consistent evolution of eCommerce and willing to adapt.
  • Strong technical skills including how to assemble, disassemble, diagnose, and repair issues on desktop and laptop computers.
  • Strong PC skills within a MS Office environment (Word, Excel and Access)
