Responsible for managing, implementing and executing on key projects throughout Medical Management. The position provides support through representation of senior leadership interests in both internal and external initiatives, and in some cases is an active team member on Medical Management strategy initiatives. This position requires a unique skill set that includes leading cross-functional leaders on complex projects, collaborating vertically and horizontally throughout the organization, understanding workflow, and creating a collaborative environment to work effectively throughout the organization to ensure alignment of strategy and approach. Accountable for supervising assigned projects and operational collaboration during implementation of new processes. Coordinates with project managers, program managers, business analysts, training teams, and other stakeholders to ensure all goals and objectives are met. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Responsibilities • Creates and executes Project plans and revises appropriately to meet changing requirements and needs • Plans and schedules Project timelines and milestones using the appropriate tools • Manages day-to-day operational and tactical activities of a Project • Develops and delivers Progress Reports, Proposals, Requirements Documentation and Presentations • Diagnoses task/procedural change issues and helps to resolve the problem • Develops and maintains solid relationships with both internal/externals customers, IT, enterprise wide business units, OptumCare Delivery Organizations and senior executives to influence project teams and gain consensus on the selection of the most viable solutions • Participates in Optum-wide project committees in relation to cross functional care management projects such as the review and discussion of Model of Care Redesign for the benefit of the organization as a whole • Provides analysis, recommendations, and options to the Sr. VP regarding decisions to be made or problems to be solved in internal or external meetings • Responsible for representing the directives of senior leadership and acts as a key liaison on cross functional projects as required • Understands and helps prioritize projects, business initiatives and strategic plans • Manages risk by bridging interdepartmental gaps, by connecting information within the organization • Acts as a centralized facilitating point for the coordination of tasks and integrated execution of key strategic initiatives and reduces activities carried out in isolation • Attends and supports all key internal meetings - deciphers critical information, investigates issues, answers critical questions, ensures timely follow up of all action items • Works through issues and roadblocks with internal and external stakeholders to reach amicable solutions that balance the needs of all parties without compromising the integrity of the agreed upon contract • Displays the ability to question assumptions or challenges the status quo, as well as understanding resistance to change in the organization and helping individuals work through it • Recommends opportunities and/or action plans for improved performance based on business need. • Collaborates with project managers, program managers, business analysts, training teams, and other stakeholders to ensure inputs, processes and outputs are captured and maintained for effective implementation • Utilizes project management and process improvement methodologies (DMAIC) to ensure deliverables are met • Ensures timely research and resolution of complaints are reported • Resolves work problems to ensure quality customer service is delivered • Coordinates meetings; prepares draft agendas for review with Sr. VP; issues agendas with appropriate backup materials; takes minutes, and provides follow-up correspondence • Understands the complexity within functions, relationships, and contractual obligations with the ability to balance competing priorities • Performs all other related duties as assigned Requirements • PMP certification • 5+ years of experience in full life cycle project management experience including project ROI assessment, project team management and change control management, or healthcare operations experience • Experience with arenaflex Office Software programs • Demonstrated problem solving capabilities resulting in significant business impact and customer satisfaction • Ability to be detail-oriented and ability to identify potential risk or problems and find resolution • Ability to manage group relationships with diverse geographic locations, skills and level of understanding of company processes and policy • Ability to effectively operate through complex organizational situations with ability to anticipate obstacles and plan appropriate approach • Ability to influence and interact comfortably with all levels of professional and line level staff • Ability to interact one-on-one and consult with all levels of leadership • Proven excellent written and oral skills Nice-to-haves • Health plan, healthcare or clinic operations experience Benefits • comprehensive benefits package • incentive and recognition programs • equity stock purchase • 401k contribution Apply tot his job
