[Remote] Paylocity Integration Engineer (HRIS/Payroll – Paylocity) - Flext Part-Time Contract

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Softworld, a Kelly Company, is seeking a Paylocity Integration Engineer to work on a part-time contract basis. The role involves stabilizing and automating integrations centered around Paylocity, focusing on improving payroll accuracy and employee experience through hands-on integration work.


Responsibilities

  • Stabilize and fix Paylocity-centered integrations and broken mappings
  • Support integrations tied to onboarding, compensation, shifts, commissions, and terminations
  • Build and refine API-, webhook-, and file feed–based integrations
  • Design event-driven workflows for hire, role change, leave, and termination events
  • Automate manual processes in onboarding, offboarding, LOA, and lifecycle communications
  • Maintain data accuracy across HR, payroll, ATS, identity/access, and finance/procurement systems
  • Improve integration reliability and monitoring to detect failures early
  • Document integration logic, mappings, and data flows to reduce single points of failure
  • Communicate changes, risks, and dependencies clearly in an async environment

Skills

  • 5+ years as an Integrations Engineer or Systems Engineer supporting production integrations
  • 3+ years of direct Paylocity configuration/integration experience, including Onboarding, Job/comp mappings, Terminations, Shifts and Commission eligibility, Payroll-impacting configurations
  • Strong API experience (REST), webhooks, SFTP/file feeds
  • Experience with JSON and XML data formats
  • Experience integrating HRIS, payroll, ATS, benefits, identity/access, and workflow systems
  • Comfortable working with incomplete documentation and legacy mappings
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical workflows
  • Independent, self-directed work style
  • Availability for a 4-month, ~20 hr/week contract. Remote, no travel. Flexible work hours
  • Comfortable working in AI-enabled environments
  • Experience with Aquera or similar iPaaS/middleware platforms
  • Experience in payroll-sensitive or high-accuracy environments
  • Exposure to procurement/finance data integrations
