[Remote] Program Delivery, HR - Summer Intern

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. UNFI is North America’s premier grocery wholesaler, delivering a variety of products to community grocers and retail chains. The HR Program Delivery Intern will support the HR team in coordinating and delivering key HR programs, providing hands-on exposure to HR operations and project coordination, while also engaging in project-based work across multiple disciplines.


Responsibilities

  • Interns will be expected to prepare and make an executive presentation to the executive team and their leaders at the conclusion of the program
  • Help review and validate HR data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency; support data translation, mapping, and preparation activities needed for a future Human Capital Management (HCM) system
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, document processes, and develop recommendations that improve HR program efficiency and employee experience
  • Draft internal communications, prepare presentation materials, and help maintain HR content across digital platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams)
  • Assist HR Program Managers with project coordination, milestone tracking, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Manage scheduling, prepare meeting materials, maintain shared files, and ensure program documentation remains organized and up to date
  • Interns will participate in learning sessions hosted by the Internship team and supporting leaders of the business
  • Engage in weekly mentoring meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Enrolled full-time at a four-year degree program at an accredited university
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S
  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior (minimum of 60 credits completed by the start of the program)
  • Target Majors: Computer Science, Information Systems, IT Project Management, Data Science, Networking, Software Management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Interest in HR programs, employee experience, and operational excellence
  • Analytical mindset with comfort working with data
  • Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Tools a plus (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI)
