[Remote] Sr Project Mgr Digital and Information Services-24281

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Rush University Medical Center is seeking a Senior Project Manager for their Digital and Information Services department. This role is responsible for facilitating successful project delivery, managing project teams, and ensuring projects are completed within budget and schedule while supporting operational efficiencies.


Responsibilities

  • Effectively manages multiple projects simultaneously leveraging required and available resources as needed
  • Directs and manages project development and progress from beginning to end
  • Guides teams as they work with project sponsors and business stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, tasks, milestones, budgets, and measures of success
  • Establishes project governance with key leaders and stakeholders and facilitate governance activities to ensure leadership effectively clears roadblocks and promotes the success of the project
  • Acts as liaison between IT stakeholders to strengthen understanding of business-aligned goals
  • Drafts and submits budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes
  • Plans, estimates, and control project costs, including resource planning, to ensure project is delivered on time and within budget
  • Builds, develops, and grows any business relationships vital to the success of the project
  • Estimates and identifies the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Negotiates with contractors and internal department managers for the acquisition of required personnel
  • Develops scaled project plans and associated communications documents using standard tools
  • Identifies and manages project resource needs and goals - strategies, staffing, scheduling, issue resolution, contingency plans, communication plans, and change control
  • Facilitate or participates in routine project team meetings to establish and continually manage project requirements and expectations with team members and other stakeholders
  • Coaches, mentors, and motivates project team members and contractors, influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
  • Provides project management coaching and mentoring to others in the organization
  • Determines the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyzes results and troubleshoots problem areas
  • Tracks and reports status (progress, next steps, issues) against project plans to appropriate stakeholders and senior management based upon agreed to communication plans
  • Collaborates and coordinates efforts with those of the organizational performance improvement infrastructure
  • Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path
  • Identifies and resolves issues/conflicts and/or escalates where appropriate for resolution
  • Proactively manages potential scope and schedule changes. Where required, escalates based upon standards established within communication plan
  • Guides team in the maintenance of project management guidelines, training programs, policies, and procedures
  • Conducts project lessons learned sessions and creates a recommendations report in order to develop best practices and tools for project execution and management
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, projection management, health care or related discipline
  • At least six years of project management experience required
  • PMP or Lean Six Sigma Certification required within one year of hire
  • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills
  • Through knowledge of formal project management methodologies and proven skill in effective execution required
  • Proficient and functional knowledge of MS Office (including Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Outlook) and Project Management software
  • Thorough knowledge of formal project management methodologies and proven skill in effective execution
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to execute project management leveraging Lean process improvement methodology required
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels in the organization
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge and competency regarding lean tools, methods and mindset
  • Hours outside normal business hours may be occasionally required to meet project deadlines
  • Professional in Project Management (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Ability to execute project management leveraging Lean process improvement methodology
