[Remote] Trade Counsel - Sanctions, Due Diligence & Government Contracts

They are seeking a Senior Sanctions & Government Contracts Compliance Counsel to join their Regulatory and Trade Compliance team, focusing on U.S. and U.K. sanctions, third-party due diligence, and government contracts compliance. Responsibilities • Advise on U.S. and U.K. sanctions compliance, including OFAC and BIS frameworks • Lead and conduct third-party due diligence related to cross-border transactions and business partnerships • Counsel clients on government contracts compliance, including procurement integrity, False Claims Act risk, and mandatory disclosure obligations • Support internal and external investigations involving sanctions, export controls, or government contract adherence • Partner with client compliance and legal teams to design and implement robust compliance programs addressing sanctions and procurement risks • Provide strategic guidance on risk mitigation, reporting, and compliance training initiatives Skills • 5+ years of legal experience in sanctions, international trade, or government contracts compliance • In-depth knowledge of OFAC, BIS, and U.K. sanctions frameworks • Experience advising on government procurement, federal contracting regulations, and FAR/DFARS compliance • Strong record of managing complex due diligence reviews and advising on cross-border risk • Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction • Prior in-house or government experience within regulated industries, defense, or international business operations • Proven ability to develop and maintain practical, scalable compliance programs • Strong analytical, communication, and client advisory skills • Ability to thrive in a project-based, flexible engagement model serving high-profile clients Benefits • Health benefits • 401K • Professional development resources • Learning and development programs Company Overview • Axiom is where high-caliber legal talent meets full-service law firm work.
