<strong>Job Description</strong><br><br>We are seeking an experienced <strong>Mixed Methods Product Researcher</strong> to support the global mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by delivering rigorous, thoughtful research that informs Church products, programs, and decision-making. In this role, you will design and conduct research that spans digital products (websites, apps, and tools), curriculum, visitor experiences, and other initiatives serving members and leaders worldwide.<br><br>You will apply a broad range of <strong>quantitative and qualitative methods</strong> to understand needs, evaluate effectiveness, and inform evidence-based decisions. Working closely with cross-functional partners, your research will directly support Church leaders and administrators as they address complex, real-world challenges with both inspiration and reliable data.<br><br>This position supports the Correlation Research Division's mission to provide <strong>timely, relevant, and trustworthy insights </strong>to General Authorities and Church administrators as the Church shares its message throughout the world. We especially welcome applicants with <strong>multilingual fluency and cross-cultural research experience</strong>, as this role regularly engages diverse populations across global contexts.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities</strong><br><br><ul><li>Design and execute research using a variety of methods-including literature reviews, interviews, observations, focus groups, surveys, fieldwork, and analysis of existing datasets-selecting approaches appropriate to the research questions and audiences.</li><li>Plan and analyze quantitative studies, including experimental or quasi-experimental designs when appropriate, to evaluate product, program, or experience effectiveness.</li><li>Apply statistical techniques (e.g., regression, ANOVA, factor analysis) to analyze large and complex datasets, ensuring data quality, validity, and appropriate interpretation.</li><li>Synthesize qualitative and quantitative findings into clear, actionable insights that inform product decisions, strategy, and prioritization.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional partners to integrate research findings into decision-making, helping stakeholders understand tradeoffs, uncertainty, and implications.</li><li>Help shape research strategy by identifying key unanswered questions, advising on measurement approaches and success metrics, and prioritizing research efforts.</li><li>Consult with internal partners to clarify research needs, recommend appropriate methods, and deliver insights tailored to non-technical audiences.</li><li>Lead research projects end-to-end, including scoping, planning, documentation, coordination of timelines, and delivery of high-quality outputs.</li><li>Mentor and support peers in research methods and best practices, contributing to a culture of empathy, curiosity, ethical rigor, and continuous learning.</li><li>Manage relationships with external research vendors, ensuring methodological quality and alignment with project goals.</li><li>Support global research initiatives, which may include domestic and international travel to better understand and represent diverse user needs.</li></ul><br><br><strong>Qualifications</strong><br><br><strong>Education & Experience</strong><br><ul><li>Master's degree or PhD in a related field (e.g., psychology, sociology, anthropology, cognitive science, instructional design, user experience, statistics, or another social science discipline), or equivalent professional experience.</li><li>3-7 years of professional research experience (master's +3) applying both quantitative and qualitative methods.</li><li>Demonstrated experience conducting mixed-methods research in applied, real-world settings.</li><li>Candidates with less experience are encouraged to apply and may be considered at a lower grade level.</li></ul><br><br><strong>Skills & Abilities</strong><br><ul><li><strong>Mixed-Methods Research Expertise:</strong> Strong ability to design, execute, and integrate qualitative and quantitative research to answer complex questions.</li><li><strong>Quantitative & Analytical Expertise:</strong> Proficiency in statistical methods (e.g., t-tests, ANOVA, regression, factor analysis) and experience using tools such as SPSS, R, Python, SQL, and business intelligence platforms.</li><li><strong>Experimental & Measurement Thinking:</strong> Experience with experimental or quasi-experimental designs, defining success metrics, and evaluating outcomes over time.</li><li><strong>Data Quality & Rigor:</strong> Understanding of sampling strategies, bias, validity, reliability, and ethical considerations-especially in global and cross-cultural research contexts.</li><li><strong>Analytical & Strategic Thinking:</strong> Ability to interpret complex data, identify meaningful patterns, and provide thoughtful recommendations while navigating ambiguity and competing priorities.</li><li><strong>Product & Program Insight:</strong> Comfort translating research findings into implications for product design, content, or program improvement.</li><li><strong>Research Facilitation:</strong> Confident leading research sessions (in-person and remote) while creating respectful, engaging environments for participants.</li><li><strong>Research Ownership & Execution:</strong> Self-directed and organized, able to manage multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholders while maintaining high-quality standards.</li><li><strong>Effective Communication:</strong> Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to diverse, non-technical audiences.</li><li><strong>Cross-Cultural Competence:</strong> Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations;
