What's involved?

The role of a school caretaker is dynamic and rewarding. Typical tasks include:

  • Locking and unlocking the site
  • Performing security and perimeter checks
  • Managing deliveries and moving equipment
  • Setting up meeting rooms and event spaces
  • Conducting fire safety and compliance checks
  • Liaising with external contractors
  • Carrying out basic repairs and maintenance
  • Supervising cleaning staff

Benefits:

For agency and contract work, we're pleased to offer the Real Living Wage.

  • National Real Living Wage: £12.60/hour. With rolled-up holiday pay, you'll receive £14.12 per hour worked.
  • Greater London Living Wage: £13.85/hour. With rolled-up holiday pay, you'll receive £15.52 per hour worked.

Mileage

  • Outside Greater London: Paid at 30p per mile when travelling more than 10 miles from your home.
  • In Greater London: Paid at 45p per mile for all travel.
