Seasonal Remote CPA or Enrolled Agent – Tax Preparation Support (Fully Virtual) We are a growing CPA firm seeking an experienced CPA or Enrolled Agent to assist with tax preparation during the upcoming tax season on a fully remote, subcontractor basis. This role is ideal for an independent tax professional who wants flexible seasonal work, clear expectations, and direct involvement in preparing and finalizing client tax returns. What you’ll be doing: • Preparing individual tax returns (Form 1040, Schedules A–E) • Preparing small business returns (1120S, 1065; 1120 a plus) • Communicating directly with clients to follow up on missing information or documentation • Finalizing tax returns and addressing client questions related to their return • Preparing returns to review-ready or final status with clean diagnostics and documentation • Maintaining clear, professional communication with both clients and internal team members Requirements: • Active CPA or Enrolled Agent credential (required) • 3–5+ tax seasons of hands-on experience • Strong experience with individual and small business returns • Experience with rental real estate and Schedule E • Multi-state experience a plus • Comfortable communicating with clients in a professional, clear manner • Able to meet deadlines during peak season • Detail-oriented and comfortable working fully remote Software & Tools: • Intuit ProSeries (required) • Canopy Tax for client portal, CRM, and document management • Comfortable working in cloud-based, paperless environments Engagement details: • Independent contractor (1099) • Seasonal engagement (February–April, possible extension) • Flexible hours with consistent weekly availability preferred Compensation: • Payment is per return • Rates will be discussed and provided during the interview process • Compensation is negotiable based on experience, return complexity, and efficiency What we offer: • Fully remote work • Organized workflows, templates, and support • Clear expectations and defined scope • Opportunity for repeat seasonal work Future opportunity: This role is for the current tax season; however, we are actively planning to hire two full-time team members later this year.
