Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Associate Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on modern cloud data platforms. This is a highly hands-on role for an engineer who is detail-oriented, delivery-focused, and comfortable working across multiple client environments. The adecuado candidate understands how data platforms enable analytics and business outcomes and is motivated to grow toward technical leadership. This role is ideally remote based in Buenos Aires but other locations within Argentina are possible. This position will be employed via a 3rd party payroll and will be Senior Associate level equivalent within Ankura's structure. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines on cloud-based data platforms. Build data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration workflows using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Airflow, Fivetran, or similar. Develop transformations and data processing logic using platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent. Work with structured and semi-structured data from multiple source systems (APIs, databases, files). Collaborate with analytics, BI, and data science teams to deliver curated, analytics-ready datasets. Implement data quality checks, logging, monitoring, and error handling. Participate in technical design discussions, effort estimates, and sprint planning. Produce clear and maintainable technical documentation. Qualifications 2–6+ years of experience in data engineering or ETL development. Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP). Experience with ETL / orchestration tools (e.g., Data Factory, Airflow, Informatica, Fivetran). Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or similar analytics platforms. Strong proficiency in Python and SQL. Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL best practices. Strong attention to detail and disciplined engineering practices. Preferred to have experience with CI/CD for data pipelines. Familiarity with dbt or transformation frameworks is preferred Preferred to have exposure to data governance, access control, and security concepts.
