Job Description: The Role The Global Data Services (GDS) team within Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) is a global, investment data management organization that specializes in the sourcing, analysis, integration, management and distribution of security, index, and portfolio data. GDS provides these data services for reference, evaluative, performance and analytical data in support of global investment decision making organizations. Data Management Operations (DMO), a division of GDS, specializes in managing, integrating and validating vendor and Fidelity-defined data associated with investment entities (securities, issues, brokers, funds, portfolios and index data). We are seeking a highly motivated and responsive team player who is able to multi-task and has excellent analytic skills. Our work is highly collaborative and involves close coordination and excellent communication with our clients, market data vendors and key business and technology partners across Fidelity. The Senior Investment Data Analyst will perform critical functions to support daily operations in support of Private Market reference data. Including investment entity set-up for the respective trading desks, perform detailed data analysis, identify and resolve data issues and manage a repository of private market documents. Quality, accuracy, and timeliness are critical to the success of this function. The Expertise and Skills You Bring • Bachelors degree in Business/Finance or related field • 5-7 years’ experience working in an Operations, Business Analysis, and/or Data Analyst role • Financial Services Industry experience working with Private Market reference data preferred • Experience working with Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, IDC, and industry ratings vendors preferred • Project Management experience such as Agile or Six Sigma concepts preferred • Strong understanding of operational metrics and analytics in relation to the business • Experience with content management systems (i.e. Sharepoint, DocuShare, Nuxeo, etc) preferred • Able to interact with vendors, clients and end users of the data • Exhibited skills in problem identification and resolution • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines • Solid oral and written communication and interpersonal skills • Good organizational and project management skills to navigate through high volume setting with tight deadlines • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of staff, management and other business partners • Familiar with alternative investments, including private equity, real estate, private credit, hedge funds and other non-traditional investments • Strong analytical skills to categorize information logically and define metadata • Perform detailed data analysis to support data management operations • Respond to business questions on the timeliness and quality of the data received and managed • Perform database queries to analyze and validate data • Troubleshoot production related issues and engage with our Technology and Business partners to resolve when needed • Participate in Operations projects/initiatives involving multiple business partners and provide subject matter expertise • Liaise with customer, business partners, and systems to translate business requirements into data requirements, evaluating and recommending data solutions • Mentors and guides junior associates on analysis and operational activities • Participates in new product forums and works to stay apprised of industry news and market trends The Team We are part of Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO), and collaborate with investment operations, trading, compliance, legal, and oversight teams across all Fidelity asset management divisions to bring new products and services to our customers.
