• Manages a team of direct junior, intermediate and fully competent professionals, ensuring the appropriate expectations, principles, structures, tools and responsibilities are in place to deliver the development plan and deliver excellence, whilst providing performance and compensation management, technical development and coaching
• Coordinates regular code reviews, deployment activities, and addresses production issues with the development team
• Supervises the design, development, testing, operation, delivery and maintenance of a suite of software solutions or infrastructure within multiple areas to satisfy user requirements
• Manages software quality functions and monitors all the QA activities, test results, leaked defects, root cause analysis and identifies areas of improvement. Implements steps required to improve the process
• Drives a development culture that supports innovation and creativity while delivering high quality products with predictability and reliability by regularly monitoring team's quality metrics (e.g. defect rates), innovation metrics (e.g. prototypes developed) and predictability metrics (e.g. on-time delivery rates), and using this as input for feedback sessions, target setting and team planning
• Develops the identification of quality risks based on high level solution architecture and is accountable for product governance. Translates function policies into measurable team goals and conducts regular risk assessmentsGrade Descriptor
• In-depth understanding of concepts and principles in own discipline and a good knowledge of these elements in related disciplines
• Provides management and direction to professional employees may occasionally manage supervisors or managers
