Shift: M-Th, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Position Overview

Join the Modus Advanced team as a Shipping and Receiving Operator and play a critical role in supporting our mission to help partners accelerate the process of designing and manufacturing tomorrow's innovations. In this position, you'll ensure the accurate and timely movement of materials and finished products that support life-saving medical devices, critical defense systems, and aerospace innovations.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving Operations

  • Receive and document incoming shipments of raw materials, components, and supplies
  • Verify quantities against purchase orders and packing slips with 100% accuracy
  • Perform visual inspections for damage and quality concerns
  • Process receiving documentation in ERP system
  • Coordinate with Procurement for material certifications and compliance documentation
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of specialized materials

Shipping Operations & Order Processing

  • Read and understand Traveler process
  • Use counting scale or hand count to ensure order is accurately filled
  • Prepare finished goods for shipment according to customer specifications
  • Package precision components using appropriate protective materials and methods, looking minimize waste where possible
  • Generate shipping documentation, labels, and tracking information
  • Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery scheduling
  • Maintain chain of custody documentation for ITAR-controlled materials
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 shipping requirements

Documentation and Compliance

  • Maintain detailed records of all shipping and receiving activities
  • Support CMMC compliance initiatives through proper documentation
  • Review shipping dates in daily shipping reports and ensure on-time delivery of all parts
  • Participate in quality audits and continuous improvement activities

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of shipping/receiving experience preferred
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP systems preferred

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with computers and ability to learn new software systems
  • Basic math skills for inventory calculations and measurements
  • Understanding of packaging requirements for precision components
  • Knowledge of shipping regulations and carrier requirements

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout warehouse for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity for handling small precision components
  • Visual acuity to inspect materials and read documentation
