Sr Advanced Systems Engineer with Extensive Virtual Ship Development Experience

Basic Qualifications : Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Responsibilities for this Position: ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES: As a systems engineer for General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) Unmanned Systems and Future Combatants (UFC) line of business, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for identifying, analyzing, and resolving system design weaknesses, developing system security documentation, and providing system accreditation/certification evaluation and test support for Virtual Ship® military simulator product line. The role supports the generation of technical engineering products throughout the system development life cycle and influences the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework used across multiple products or systems. We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: • 10+ years of experience in developing Military Ship handling Simulators such as Virtual Ship® • 10+ years of experience in designing, developing, and fielding bridge simulations • Experience integrating HLA, arenaflex, and visual federates • Specific experience working with the Virtual Ship® military simulator product line • Experience designing and implementing speech recognition federates • Experience designing and fielding LCS mission module training simulations • Very strong ability to effectively use arenaflex Office tools for various tasks. • Very strong understanding and application of systems engineering principles, concepts, and theories. • Very strong use of tools for managing requirements and modeling systems. • Skilled in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions effectively. • Understanding and application of project leadership principles including SPI/CPI, Earned Value, arenaflex • Account Management (CAM), and Statistical Process Controls.
