Sr Database Engineer (arenaflex Fabric / SQL DBA)(Remote, Houston)

Description POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Sr Database Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-performance, scalability, and secure data infrastructure using arenaflex Fabric and SQL Server. This role requires deep technical expertise in database administration, data engineering, and performance optimization across arenaflex’s cloud ecosystem. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineer with extensive experience in SQL, Python, and KQL, as well as a passion for automation and data-driven development. Responsibilities include managing and optimizing enterprise data pipelines, implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions, and supporting real-time data streaming using Azure Event Hub, Fabric Event Streams, or Spark Structured Streaming. The engineer will collaborate closely with data architects, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure efficient and reliable data delivery across environments. This is a remote position; however, candidates must be based in Houston, Texas in order to be considered. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • 10+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA, including setup, performance tuning, and high availability • Hands-on coding experience in SQL, Python, and KQL for data engineering and analytics • Experience designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise data pipelines and ETL workflows in arenaflex Fabric • Strong skills in SQL and KQL performance optimization and query tuning • Proficiency in managing arenaflex Fabric Lakehouse and Eventhouse environments • Proficiency in Spark SQL, PySpark, and Fabric OneLake architecture • Experience building real-time data streaming pipelines using Azure Event Hub, Fabric Event Streams, or Spark Structured Streaming • Experience automating database maintenance and deployments using PowerShell or Azure DevOps • Strong familiarity with Azure managed services and arenaflex/CD best practices • Proficiency with Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions (branching, PRs, automation) • Experience using JIRA and working in agile delivery pipelines • Focus on automation, testing, and monitoring within Azure environments • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or Math preferred PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience leveraging Fabric Lakehouse for analytics and Eventhouse for operational insights • Knowledge of scalable data architecture and modeling best practices • Ability to lead and mentor database and data engineering teams • Experience with automation and observability tools such as App Insights and Log Analytics • The position requires up to 10% travel Hanwha Q CELLS Technologies, Inc. a subsidiary of Hanwha Q CELLS, one of the world´s largest and most recognized photovoltaic manufacturers for its high-performance, high-quality solar cells and modules.
