Storyboard/Animatics Artist - Alex Kong - USA - work from home job Company: Alex Kong Job description: Job details • REMOTE work for an South African Company • Incorporation August 1st 2023 • Flexible Hours 8 am - 5 pm • Contract duration 8 months • I'm looking for Supervisor, Senior, Mid and Junior levels, hence the salary range. Candidate profile The Azania Rises Team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Storyboard Artist to join our dynamic team. We are searching for a talented draftsperson who possesses a true passion for storytelling, particularly in the genres of action-adventure and drama. The artist will need to contribute in the production of the storyboards and animatics for 12 episodes in season 1 of our animated series. Our ideal candidate should have a firm grasp of capturing dynamic staging, possess a deep understanding of filmmaking fundamentals, and display exceptional character acting abilities. We value teamwork and seek someone who thrives in a fast-paced, enjoyable work environment while embracing the challenges that come with it. Skills/Knowledge • Excellent drawing skills and knowledge of anatomy. • Strong figurative and perspective draftsmanship a must • Ability to draw characters on model and in a 3D setting • Ability to provide cleaned-up storyboards with attention to clarity and entertainment value. • Ability to take feedback and make necessary edits. • Demonstrate proficiency in timing, screen direction, continuity, and the language of cinema. • Good verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to write clear and specific directions on storyboards if requested. • Strong time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines. • Ability to provide status updates, troubleshoot, and review potential changes on a regular basis with production staff. • A CV and portfolio demonstrating skills. Responsabilities • Collaborating with the Director and Writing team to determine the look and feel required for the storyboard. • Regularly meet with Supervisor, Director, Producer, Editor, and fellow Storyboard Artists to thoroughly review, discuss, implement, and revise storyboards. • Reading and interpreting the script • Identifying the key scenes and planning how they can be visualized. • Translating the scenes from the script into a storyboard with panels of images • Exploring and pitching various concepts, themes, moods and environments for the storyboard • Creating sketches of key scenes in sequence and ensuring continuity. • Incorporating text to give technical direction to the animators. • Incorporating special effects into the storyboard panels • Briefing the animation team on key scenes within the storyboard • Editing and amending storyboard scenes during production • Collaborating with the Animation team. • Responsible for completing all deliverables on time and according to production schedule. Software • Toon Boom Storyboard Pro 22 • If you work in other software it's fine as long as your artistic skills are there.
