Underwriting Analyst - Group Accident 122926 Zurich Insurance is currently looking for a Market Facing Underwriter Analyst to join the Group Accident team within our Life, Accident & Health business unit. This position will be located in Chicago or Schaumburg, IL. This is a ground level position that will support Zurich Life, Accident & Health's growth initiatives in the Group Accident space. Group Accident offers a portfolio of products designed to help protectanizations and individuals against financial hardship resulting from accidental death, accidental injury, unexpected or critical illness, hospitalization and trip cancellation/travel inconvenience, including Business Travel Accident, Basic AD&D, Voluntary AD&D, Participant Accident, Student Accident, Student Travel, Tuition Reimbursement and Leisure Travel. The position will have underwriting, technical and transactional responsibilities, along with some market facing interaction and will support senior level underwriters/regional development managers within Group Accident in building, implementing and fulfilling programs in all areas of the business noted above. This position will be responsible for: Analyze and underwrite new and renewal business, regularly interacting and facing the market, under limited supervision, within delegated authority levels on assignments of moderate technicalplexity ensuring a high-level service to customers. Complying with underwriting rules and guidelines, pricing/rating rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations and internal best practices. Creating and/or reviewing rating/pricing documentation, quote/proposal documents, policy/plan documents and marketing materials. Performing system entry, driving end-to-end policy/plan processing, and ensuring thepleteness of underwriting/program files. Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) in support of business retention and acquisition and work with customers and distributors to determine their insurance related needs and provide solutions. Providing superior service to our distribution partners, third party administrators and customers. Participate in broker and customer on-sight calls with regional development manager or senior level underwriters. Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities through cross sell and upsell. Collaborating with senior level underwriters/business leads and various other internal stakeholders. Ability to analyze risks, measure exposures and calculate bolthires rate. Collect information from established sources and deliver accurate decisions to brokers and customers. Under the tutelage of senior level underwriters/business leads and various other internal stakeholders, learning the suite of products noted above Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1 or more years of experience in an Underwriting or Market Facing area. OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in a Claims or Underwriting Support area. AND Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment Knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations and guidelines Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors' Degree with 1 or more years of experience in an Underwriting or Market Facing area; or Bachelor's Degree with 2 or more years of experience in a Claims or Underwriting support area General knowledge of the insurance industry General knowledge of underwriting philosophy and techniques, the legal and regulatory environment of insurance and implementing insurance policies/programs Ability to work in a team-based environment Ability to work within a guiding set of rules/principles and solve for the ambiguous w/as necessary Strong verbal and writtenmunication skills Attentive to detail and accuracy bolthires Office skills At Zurich,pensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
