The job involves the role of a Virtual Infrastructure Engineer responsible for designing, installing, administering, and optimizing an organization’s servers, services, and related components to support the performance of various business applications. This includes ensuring system availability, configuring new implementations, managing LAN/WAN activities, and overseeing data center security. The engineer will provide tier-2 support for infrastructure and virtualization platforms, manage VMware clusters, vSphere hosts, and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). Scripting skills, vulnerability remediation, and server administration are essential. The role also covers disaster recovery, workstation administration, and participation in on-call rotations. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience, with expertise in VMware, Windows, and other relevant technologies. Communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are emphasized, along with competencies in attention to detail, decision-making, and technical expertise. The engineer will need to perform various tasks, adapt to changing environments, and adhere to quality and performance standards.
